I bet you’ve known someone who has compared himself to the capital G-o-d. We’re you offended?
It’s amazing human beings are still so dogmatic! Science has disproven the existence of God; there’s nothing in the clouds but oxygen and beyond, thousands of stars to which we can assume an adjacent planet has life.
Truth is, man has worshipped no less than 30,000 gods since the dawn of this belief. In the dogmatic way we’re living our life in the 21st Century, we perpetuate our suffering to what we know, absolutely, to be truth: the belief in God is a distraction to real issues concerning humanity. It’s holding back our race of humans back thousands of years.
We’re past the age in which wars are started on the basis of god? Have you ever listened to a fanatic talk about his deity? It’s embarrassing to be near them. Yet they pollute our schools government and our minds.
Are you shocked and or offended? I learned a long time ago that when I am shocked and offended, the fault is with me. It’s time to turn the mirror on ourselves and history and stand up for what we’ve known, for so long, to be absolute truth. There’s not a snowy, white-bearded man in the sky shaking a stick at our sins. There’s only our own personal guilt, which we attribute to this illusion.
This being said, I still reserve the right to say “Oh, my God” and “OMG.” When in pain, I may still pray even if it’s out of habit alone. If I see something awful, I still may be prone to whisper, “Oh God.”
“God, no!”, “Goddamnit!”, and “God, and God alone…” are still vomiting from my vocal chords. It’ll make you feel more comfortable when we speak.
